HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It has been most commenly used to induce ovulation in woman, however it also helps produce testosterone in men. HCG is a prescription drug and it is administered as a subcutaneous injection.
HCG mimics leutenizing hormone (LH). LH stimulates the Leydig cells causing the testicles to produce testosterone. Testosterone therapy can sometimes cause atrophy (shrinage) of the testicles. HCG combats this returning the testes to it’s normal size and function.
When we supplement your program with HCG it includes a minimum of one injection per week to as much as two injections per week. This is determined by our highly trained Physicians and Providers.
When your body feels it has enough testosterone to use, the brain stops sending the LH signal to your testicles. At that point you will stop producing natural testosterone. It will not be until your testosterone levels drop below normal and the signal returns, re-starting production. Since during testosterone therapy you are getting testosterone from an artificial source, your brain will not send that signal to your testicles. Over a period of time which is diffent for every man, your body will decide for you “Use it or Lose it” and your testicles will begin to shrink. The amount of atrophe (shrinkage) is different for every man, but HCG will quickly restore your function and size.
Absolutely, as you can see in the graph HCG increases intratesticular testosterone substantially on it’s own, however we do not recommend only using HCG in Testosterone Replacement Therapy. The increased amount of HCG you would require will
over time will desensitize the Leydig cells to your own LH. That means if you ever stop the HCG therapy, your testicles won’t identify the LH signal coming from your brain. This would not be a good thing at all. You will receive the benefits (production of Testosterone) for about 5 continuous days after each HCG injection.
